Costa Launches ICAW 2013
Costa launched International Composting Awareness Week Australia (ICAW) 2013 during the CORE Mulch Farmers Get Together on Friday 15th February at CANA Community Farm in the Sydney region. The event was organised to explain CORE’s background and present its vision for a sustainable agriculture to the farmers’ community. CORE promotes mulch, which would have been otherwise sent to landfill, to regenerate soils and reduce weeds.
ICAW, organised by the Centre for Organic Research & Education (CORE), is a week of activities, events and publicity to improve awareness about the importance of compost, a valuable organic resource, and to promote its use, knowledge and products.
To help promote the benefits of composting, Costa, the Greek-Australian landscape architect and television personality now host of Gardening Australia on ABC, accepted to become ICAW’s ambassador in 2013.
